Congratulations!  You have probably found yourself on this website because you or someone you love is expecting a baby! The birth of a baby is a rite of passage for a woman that will forever change who she is. She changes from a woman into a mother.  
Women are becoming aware that as a culture, we do not trust in a woman's body and her ability to give birth. Through this awareness, a growing number of women and their partners are empowering themselves with knowledge through childbirth education and changing the way women are giving birth. As more and more babies are brought into this world in a non-violent, peaceful manner, humanity as a whole will improve.

The Birthing Barefoot Workshops are designed to prepare a mother and her partner, mentally, physically, and spiritually for their pregnancy and birth journeys.  Your instructor, Lara Carlos, is an ALACE (Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators) trained childbirth educator. The training for this program was developed by midwives and is recognized for its holistic, women-centered approach. ALACE childbirth workshops provide evidence based information about the birth process and provide the tools to empower women and their partners to make informed choices throughout pregnancy and birth. A woman will always remember how she was made to feel during the birth of her child.  Empowering ourselves with knowledge, facing our fears of birth, and learning how to connect with this baby will allow  everyone involved to trust in the mother and her ability to give birth. This is what I teach in the workshops.  I will teach you how to Birth Barefoot!
